In 1959, a small group of parents came together to provide a better life for their children. From this meeting, the Little City Foundation was born.

Little City Foundation offers a variety of living arrangements for children and adults with developmental challenges, both on campus and in neighboring communities, that enable them to enjoy the benefits and responsibilities of community living.

We believe that people with developmental challenges are valuable human beings who bring diversity and compassion to our society, who contribute to the quality of life for all citizens, and deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.

Over the years the face of Little City has changed as we've added new programs, new people, and new ideas. But the Foundation's mission has remained constant -- to help children and adults achieve their full potential and live meaningful and happy lives with dignity and respect.

Administrative and fund-raising costs for 2001 were 20%. For information call (847) 221-7805 or visit our Web site at littlecity.org so we can introduce you to the many faces of Little City, and help you understand the four basic principles of our mission -- Living, Loving, Learning and Working. We invite you into our "little city" and hope you will visit our campus in Palatine, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, where the people whose faces you see here make big things happen every day.
