The Illinois Women's Funding Federation's mission is to:
  • establish a source of permanent, unrestricted funding for programs benefiting women and families
  • increase public awareness of issues of interest to women and their families
  • encourage wage earners to make regular contributions to programs dedicated to helping women overcome poverty, lack of education, abuse and discrimination.

     

What Will Your Contribution Do?

$1 per week will:
  • purchase a gallon of milk for one family at a domestic violence shelter
  • provide legal evaluation of a woman's sex discrimination case
  • alert 156 single parents of available child support services

    $5 per week will:
  • purchase a video on acquaintance rape for teen audiences
  • provide an educational brochure to combat discrimination
  • provide children's domestic violence group with nutritional snacks
  • purchase toys, books and games for formerly homeless children living in shelter

    $10 per week will:
  • produce and distribute a brochure on health care for teenagers
  • pay for one month of art therapy for a children's sexual assault program
  • provide counseling for one group of battered women for one week
  • provide 20 women in a domestic violence shelter with a 3-hour self-defense course
  • provide re-socializing outings/special events for formerly homeless women/children

    $20 per week will:
  • support a statewide workshop on housing for young families
  • provide a loan for one woman to win her case of sexual harassment
  • provide formerly homeless family with case management, recovery support, furniture, food, housing
  • child support

  • Problems that IWFF members strive to eliminate by working for equal pay, equal opportunity, access to job training, free health care, and more. Over 146,000 Illinois women and children were served in 2001 at 232 sites located throughout Illinois.
